GS Christmas Party.

(12\1\11)Tonight is our Girl Scouts Christmas Party! We started out making a couple of ornaments for the girls to take home.

 

Then we had dinner...pasta from Pizza Hut.

 

Here are our supplies for wrapping presents.

 

I let the girls do the best they could cutting wrapping, and taping their gifts up, with little help from us. They did a pretty good job and had a lot of fun doing it.

 

Here is the finished project. Each girl brought a toy and a clothing item for a little girl 6 years old that may not have had a very big Christmas. We talked about this during the last meeting and this one too and I felt like the girls understood what we were doing, because they seem to all have a very big heart while doing it :)

 

They each earned a "festival of trees" patch and some of the requirements was to learn about how some others may celebrate Christmas, we learned about safety at Christmas time, we had to make and ornament and this was our "use resourses wisely", we used a grocery sack as wrapping paper and then the girls decorated it with hand prints.

Decorating the Christmas Tree.

(11\24\11)Every year on Thanksgiving as we are decorating the tree our little friend from the North Pole shows up, and this year was no different. One minute nothing and the the next there was this little elf that Abby got from her dance teacher last year sitting on the mantel with her arms wrapped around a candle and a note crumbled up on the floor from BJ and there he was perched up in the tree. You can only imagine the excitement. (Not sure why I don't have a picture.)

 

Thanksgiving.

(11\24\11)Thanksgiving. We had a great time at Grammy's house before going to Granny Jo's. Can't believe it's this time of year again already.

 

 

 

 

The guys were flying a remote control helicopter and Maggie did not love it, so she hid behind her uncle Jabbo.

 

Good Citizen.

(11\21\11)Guess who got good citizen for the 1st 9 weeks?!?! That's right Abby did, I was so proud of her!!! We went to the school tonight for her to get her award. This is Eli, he is in her class and lives in our neighborhood, they are both great kids. Mr. Foster, the principle is the best, he made sure to get a picture with each child as he gave each award. Abby was so proud to have GranJan and Pops there too.

 

Then the 5th graders had a program. Too cute.

Today is going to be our first girl scout meeting! We went by to set up for the craft and these girls were super wild, they thought the pile of leaves in the parking lot was GREAT!

We have 5 little girls in our troop and they are loving girl scouts. We made a craft had our meeting where we learned the girl scouts sign, the law and the promise. Then of course we had snack.

 

Katie and JD's Wedding.

(11\5\11)Today is the big day, Katie and JD tied the knot...The wedding was in Georgia on a farm but it was BEAUTIFUL, they live in Auburn and it was just over the line. They looked so happy and they even said their own vows, it was very sweet and simple, they had a violinist playing and released doves afterwards. The trees had changed colors and most had already fallen but they were all on the ground and behind them in the distance up on the hill were cows grazing. I have never been to a wedding like that but...beautiful.

 

Then the reception was in the "farm house" and it was beautiful too. They had the best sit down dinner, and a dj.

The balcony area was wide open and looked down over the reception so the cousins had a party of their own, they were dancing their little hearts out. Jared is pretty good and wanted to get on the dance floor but was shy, so I walked with him and during the dance off he jumped in there and did his thing...he did a little break dancing and stole the show.

 

(11\6\11) We all stayed in a hotel back in Alabama and on our way home we took Abby to see the trees in Auburn before they are gone.

 

Halloween 2011

(10\31\12)Happy Halloween! We had friends over, cooked chili, had a projector set up out side watching scary movies and walked the neighborhood! What a fun night.

 

 

PG fall festival.

(10\30\11)This evening was the fall festival at Plesant Grove First Baptist, Lauren meet us their with Madison and Bronson, and Grammy and Grand Bob came with Maggie.

 

 

Yep, I think her eyes are crossed, I guess you can only smile so many times before you start looking like this :)

(10\29\11)A fun Saturday hanging out with friends. They have so much to do in their back yard, they have several acres, and the kids loved being out side. A swing set, a tire swing, four-wheelers, and more. The boys though, they started digging a hole, and that kept them occupied for a while, they had to fill it in later though and got help from the girls and in the process of filling the hole back in Abby got hit in the head, in the hairline on her forehead with a shovel and it busted it but not bad enough to been seen by a doctor, it has left a scar but is hidden by her hair. Justin the youngest of the group some how fell and knocked a tooth right out of his mouth!!! What a day!!!

 

 

 

We had to hurry home and get ready to go to Grammy's church for thier fall festival, Tammy and Carlee meet us there.
